The Automotive Service Technician (AST) degree expands upon the General Service Technician I certificate by delivering advanced diagnostic and repair capabilities for roles as automotive technicians. Students rotate between classroom instruction and dealership internships to acquire deeper theoretical knowledge and enhanced practical abilities while earning certifications through our industry collaborators: Subaru University and Nissan Technical Training Academy (NTTA). Employment prospects for automotive service technicians are expected to stay robust throughout the coming decade. AST graduates typically begin as maintenance technicians and progressively apply their expertise to sophisticated diagnosis and repair across all automotive systems.
A candidate for admission to Shoreline Community College must be a graduate of an accredited high school, have a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or be at least 18 years of age.
