The School Psychology M.A./Ed.S. program equips students with both professional and academic preparation to meet the diverse needs of children, adolescents, and their support systems. Student development and field experiences align with the National Association of School Psychologists' training standards. This program consists of two distinct phases, each requiring separate applications. Initially, students complete a 36-credit master's program (Master's in Psychological Studies with a School Psychology focus). After finishing this, candidates must apply again for the 29-credit Education Specialist (Ed.S.) program, which involves 300 practicum hours and a 1200-hour internship. The combined M.A. and Ed.S. curriculum spans four years.
Earning all 65 credits across both programs qualifies graduates for New Jersey Department of Education certification as school psychologists. This credential is specifically for school-based practice and does not permit private practice.
