The Visual and Sound Media program's Sports Media Concentration helps students enhance their media production and analytical skills through specialized sports media courses. These specialized classes explore areas such as sports media governance, evolving distribution and production methods, and sports media's cultural impact. By blending general media production and theory with sports-focused coursework, students gain a well-rounded foundation to succeed in the dynamic sports media landscape.
Students enjoy full access to all facilities starting their very first semester. Hands-on learning experiences through PirateTV and WSOU 89.5FM provide exceptional practical training. Alumni enter various sports media professions, including broadcasting, directing, editing, and production roles.
