The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) is an interdisciplinary degree program providing an in-depth, methodical examination of crime and society's reactions to it. We emphasize applying theoretical concepts and research methodologies to shape policies, programs, and practical solutions. Special attention is given to ethical considerations in criminal justice, diversity challenges, analytical reasoning, and leadership development. Graduates pursue rewarding careers across all criminal justice domains, from law enforcement and judicial systems to corrections, social services, policy-making, and academic research. While not mandatory, we strongly encourage student internships. Our participants have gained valuable experience at numerous agencies, including federal entities like the DEA and FBI, local departments such as Seattle and Bellevue police, and state organizations including the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab and Attorney General's Office.
