The Psychology Department immerses students in exploring diverse dimensions of psychological existence - from individual and physical to interpersonal, ethical, societal, and cultural - through both reflective and empirical approaches. Our faculty members incorporate extensive perspectives and real-world expertise into their instruction. Rooted in clinical practice alongside quantitative and qualitative research, they employ varied frameworks including humanistic, phenomenological, depth psychology, social, behavioral, and cognitive approaches. Their teaching also integrates interdisciplinary insights from fields like literature, philosophy, history, and other social sciences. The curriculum features both foundational courses (such as developmental, abnormal, social psychology, and research methods) and specialized offerings addressing crucial but frequently overlooked topics (including forgiveness, gender studies, political/ecological concerns, health psychology, existential-phenomenology, multicultural counseling, and creativity). Students are supported in gaining practical experience through job shadowing, volunteer work, and structured Practicum (internship) placements that offer valuable exposure to various professional paths and organizations.
