This program is perfect for students passionate about secondary education teaching, pursuing a career in education, or considering a dual major. The curriculum covers teaching leadership, analysis of social identities, hands-on classroom experience reflection, influences on educational methods, and additional topics. Similar to pre-law or pre-med tracks, the Bachelor of Arts in Humanities for Teaching serves as a pre-education foundation. Participants can refine their literacy skills, specialize in a focus area, and contemplate the essence of teaching. Graduates with this humanities degree stand out as strong applicants for Master in Teaching programs, where they can typically earn $7,000 more annually than those holding just a bachelor's degree.

After finishing their undergraduate core requirements, Matteo Ricci Institute students develop competencies to: Engage in humanistic examination of systemic inequities and timeless human issues. Apply Jesuit Catholic reflective practices in choices. Analyze how power dynamics and privilege affect personal and societal conditions. Compare diverse interpretations of peace and justice. Communicate thoughts effectively through situation-appropriate verbal and written expression.
