The Marine Deck Technology (MDT) program, sanctioned by the US Coast Guard, integrates hands-on training with coursework in nautical science, mathematics, communications, and interpersonal skills. It focuses on the principles, construction, usage, and upkeep of deck machinery, along with practical navigation techniques. In the second and third terms, students acquire maritime experience on the college's training ships. This academic phase culminates in a 90-day internship aboard a commercial vessel at sea.
