The Health Information Technology (HIT) Program equips students for careers at the intersection of healthcare growth and technological innovation. HIT specialists serve as vital custodians of patient records, providing essential data that empowers individuals to oversee their wellbeing and enables medical professionals to deliver effective treatment. Through organizing, safeguarding, and interpreting health records, these professionals play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality patient care.
Students completing this program earn an Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology, with the program being CAHIIM-accredited. Graduates qualify to sit for AHIMA's national certification examination to obtain Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credentials.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
