The Global Leadership Associate of Arts degree includes mandatory global studies and communication courses, along with diverse elective options in social sciences and arts/humanities. This program equips students to pursue further education across multiple disciplines beyond just global studies and communication, including history, political science, economics, business, sociology, and environmental studies. Additionally, it readies graduates for careers in various globalization-impacted fields and evolving communication sectors. Students gain qualifications for roles across public and private organizations, spanning education, government, media, journalism, and NGOs - with Santa Barbara offering numerous opportunities in these areas. The AA in Global Leadership aligns with Santa Barbara City College's foundational commitment to fostering global awareness, as outlined in the institution's mission statement.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
