In our modern information-driven world, strong reading and writing abilities are crucial for all individuals. The English curriculum provides a diverse and comprehensive education in these fundamental literacy skills - benefiting students personally, the academic world, and society as a whole. To foster appreciation of cultural heritage and spark creative thinking, the department presents literature classes covering everything from overviews of British, American, and global literary works to introductory studies in poetry, Shakespearean drama, modern fiction, and specialized courses focusing on specific authors or themes.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
