Art enthusiasts, whether pursuing it professionally or as a hobby, can access exceptional training through Santa Barbara City College's art program, led by faculty who are active exhibiting artists with global recognition.
The art department has designed a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on students' main artistic interests while also covering essential techniques and foundational skills. Course offerings include drawing, design, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and art history, providing students with thorough preparation for either transferring to another institution or continuing their artistic journey independently after completing studies at SBCC.
Graduates of high schools or equivalent are eligible for admission, with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
Students must be 18 years or older by the start of the semester without restrictions.
