The Master of Science in Geographic Information Science (MS GISc) is a one-year graduate program provided by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. This focused curriculum teaches students spatial theory, reasoning, and GIS applications for problem-solving and decision-making. The program integrates diverse coursework in GISci, statistics, computer science, geography, and urban planning through eight advanced-level classes. Through these courses, students engage with the geospatial competency framework, tackling progressively complex challenges in hands-on, project-driven learning environments to equip them for a fast-growing tech-driven field.
