The Master of Arts in Art History and Visual Culture provides comprehensive training in art historical studies, equipping students for doctoral programs. This degree also prepares graduates for specialized art history roles within library science, along with diverse career paths such as teaching at community colleges, conducting research, curating museums, managing arts organizations, working in conservation, or serving as visual resource librarians.
U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, or the completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited, and approved institution from a country outside of the U.S. Completion of 30 or more college-level semester units or equivalent in Art History courses with a minimum 3.0 GPA. At least 24 units should have been in upper-division Art History courses.
English Language Proficiency: IELTS: 6.5; TOEFL – 80 (IBT), paper based – 550, Computer based – 213; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 53.
