The Audiology Doctoral program, provided by the Audiology Department, spans four years and combines classroom learning, hands-on clinical experience, and a capstone research project. Audiology is a healthcare field focused on 1) understanding hearing and balance systems, and 2) clinically assessing, diagnosing, and managing hearing and balance conditions. This program equips graduates to evaluate and address hearing impairments and ear-related issues, guide patients in maintaining their residual hearing, and recommend and adjust hearing aids and assistive devices. The curriculum covers subjects like sound physics, body structures and functions, hearing assessment techniques, auditory disorders, ear examinations, balance system evaluation and therapy, treatment approaches and adaptive tools, plus specialized applications for children and unique cases.
