Foundational courses emphasize theoretical frameworks and evidence-based research exploring the connections between legal systems, justice principles, and societal structures. Students can select from various specialized electives covering contemporary justice themes.
With a legacy dating back to 1930, the Department of Justice Studies has championed social equity and community empowerment. Amid evolving social, economic, and political landscapes, we maintain our dedication to scholarly rigor, advocacy, and policy-oriented investigation. Our academic offerings encompass bachelor's and master's degrees in justice studies, a forensic science bachelor's program, and minors spanning justice studies, forensic examination, criminology, legal analysis, and human rights. Our distinguished faculty researchers investigate diverse subjects including migrant rights, gender-based violence, offender psychology, domestic abuse, and genetic forensics. Student organizations such as Alpha Phi Sigma, Chi Pi Sigma, and the Forensic Science Students provide extracurricular engagement. Alumni pursue careers across multiple sectors including criminal justice administration, forensic laboratories, policing, and community organizations, or advance to legal education and graduate studies.
