The BS in Computer Science and Linguistics, a collaborative program between the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Linguistics and Language Development, equips students with core competencies for careers blending computing and language studies. This program combines technical coursework with linguistic theory, applied linguistics, and computer science principles, preparing graduates for roles in text automation, AI-driven translation, speech technologies, data analysis, and other emerging fields. Students gain expertise for positions in grammar verification, voice recognition systems, search engine development, and large-scale data processing. Additionally, the curriculum lays the groundwork for advanced study in computational linguistics, NLP, AI research, digital media, and human-machine interfaces. Through its interdisciplinary approach, students develop robust technical, analytical, and linguistic capabilities to address complex challenges with significant business, academic, and cultural impact.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
