The Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (SISS) teaches students about the societal mechanisms that shape, sustain, and evolve our communities. This program builds upon core sociological principles and practical implementations while incorporating cross-disciplinary methods for examining society and preparing future educators. Sociologists examine how societal systems - including economic, political, educational, familial, media, and legal frameworks - influence individuals within communities. Students gain essential competencies and understanding to address the social, political, economic, historical, and cultural challenges that foster strong leadership in today's interconnected world.
