The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, delivered by the Department of Political Science, equips students with knowledge of political systems and governance while fostering their abilities as engaged citizens. This program enhances analytical thinking and communication skills, opening doors to diverse career paths such as education, legal professions, business, and government roles.
Students in the political science program examine both contemporary political challenges and fundamental questions about governance, policy-making, and democratic processes. The department provides a comprehensive BA program featuring coursework in American government, public management, constitutional law, global comparative systems, international affairs, and philosophical foundations of politics. Our robust internship opportunities include supported placements in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., along with participation in Model UN simulations and the prestigious Pi Sigma Alpha honor society. Graduates are well-prepared for postgraduate education or professional paths in legal practice, policy research, academia, civil service, legislative support, campaign strategy, advocacy work, diplomacy, and related sectors.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
