Philosophy is an intellectual journey that explores profound ideas. Students of philosophy engage with the writings of history's most brilliant minds, fostering dialogues between these concepts and modern-day issues. They also develop skills to examine both abstract theories and real-world challenges through a philosophical lens.
A philosophy degree cultivates valuable abilities in analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and effective writing - competencies highly sought after in diverse professions. This major serves as excellent preparation for careers in law, healthcare, psychology, and religious studies, while also laying the foundation for advanced philosophical studies.
The curriculum includes:
Three introductory courses covering a year-long survey of philosophical history and formal logic training,
Seven advanced courses that delve into specialized philosophical domains, and
A capstone seminar allowing intensive study of specific philosophers or philosophical movements.
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and earn the equivalent of a U.S. 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or an average of “B” grades. Successfully complete three years of college preparatory mathematics with a minimum grade of “C-” or better.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
