This program prepares students for careers in elementary or middle school education. The curriculum, provided by the Department of Humanities, meets San José State University's BA in Liberal Studies requirements and is recognized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) for exempting graduates from the CSET for Multiple Subjects exam needed for teaching credentials.
While completing the program with a minimum 2.75 GPA is required, it doesn't ensure acceptance into the credential program. All applicants must satisfy credential program criteria and pass the admission screening process.
