The Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with Teaching Preparation, provided by the Department of Environmental Studies, prepares students for careers in elementary or middle school education. This program fulfills the University's BA requirements in Environmental Studies and is recognized by California's Teacher Credentialing (CTC) as meeting the subject matter competency requirement, exempting graduates from the CSET for Multiple Subjects exam. Upon completion, students qualify to enroll in the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (K-8) program.
Program graduates must also satisfy additional credentialing standards. For details on applying to credential programs, refer to Teaching: How to Become a Teacher in California (see Teaching section).
Students must Earn a high school diploma, or equivalent and Maintaining a minimum grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.87 and completion of the program will not guarantee admission to the credential program.
English Language Requirements: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL – 61 (IBT), Paper based – 500; Pearson Test of English (PTE) – 44.
