The School of Nursing offers graduate programs for bachelor's-prepared registered nurses seeking to enter advanced practice or specialize further. This program equips students with the qualifications for both California NP licensure and national certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and American Nurses Credentialing Center. Nurse Practitioners gain the authority to independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across all age groups while collaborating with healthcare teams. Their expanded roles encompass research, consultation across disciplines, and patient advocacy. The master's program combines foundational coursework with specialized training, covering essential topics like nursing theory, advanced clinical roles, disease processes, evidence-based research, healthcare leadership, policy studies, and ethical considerations for advanced practitioners.
