The Bachelor of Science in Physics with an Astrophysics Concentration mirrors the standard Physics B.S. curriculum while incorporating advanced astronomy coursework tailored for students pursuing careers or graduate studies in astrophysics. This program mandates a senior thesis project. Ideal high school preparation involves two years of algebra, one year each of geometry and physics, a trigonometry semester, and a full year of chemistry. Basic programming knowledge is beneficial. First-year college students, particularly those without extensive high school chemistry background, are highly encouraged to enroll in CHEM 115, CHEM 215, and CHEM 216.
