The Humanities program provides students with a comprehensive exploration of cultural experiences via interdisciplinary humanities studies. Both undergraduate and graduate learners examine creative expressions, cultural principles, and perspectives from diverse societies throughout history. Those pursuing humanities degrees investigate ways to synthesize various disciplines—including literature, music, visual arts, and architecture—into a unified understanding of global cultural richness.
This holistic perspective on both American and international cultures makes the humanities major ideal preparation for careers in public service, corporate sectors, legal fields, education, and creative industries. Students can combine specialized professional training (in areas like TESOL, journalism, or museum studies) with their humanities major or minor. You are considered a freshman applicant if you will have a high school diploma or GED and have not enrolled at any college or university beyond the summer immediately following your high school graduation.
