The Bachelor of Arts in Earth Sciences program establishes a strong theoretical grounding in fundamental physical sciences, mathematics, and geosciences. Learners synthesize insights from these distinct fields to address critical cross-disciplinary challenges, including mitigating climate change impacts and balancing human needs with environmental preservation. The curriculum equips graduates to guide and inform others on matters requiring Earth system expertise. After mastering core concepts, students enjoy significant flexibility to tailor their studies toward diverse Earth Science interests and professional pathways. The Department of Earth & Climate Sciences provides two bachelor's degrees and a minor program covering geological, hydrological, oceanographic, atmospheric, and climatological studies, plus a Master of Science in Geosciences. These programs collectively foster comprehension of Earth's systems while cultivating analytical abilities to assess and resolve scientific problems concerning planetary and environmental concerns.
