The curriculum expands on principles from mathematics, physics, chemistry, and fundamental engineering, offering specialized education in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. It places a strong emphasis on engineering design, especially when integrated with computer applications and real-world engineering challenges. Safety considerations and engineering ethics are integrated throughout the coursework. As an environmental engineer, you will learn to address critical environmental issues, from securing safe drinking water to minimizing air pollution. Through our ABET-accredited program, you will acquire the scientific expertise to detect, design, construct, and manage systems that safeguard the environment against the effects of human actions.

Qualification Requirements
If you are graduating from a high school outside of the United States, your application will be reviewed on the following admission criteria Completion of high school/secondary level. A certified copy of graduation certificate or diploma will be required prior to enrollment at SDSU. Review the Requirements by Country for country specific information.
A minimum U.S. equivalent GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 (B grade or 80 percent) or higher.
English Proficiency: If you are attending or have attended a high school where English was not the primary language of instruction, you must meet university-level competence in English through one of the following:
TOEFL Passing score is 80 iBT and 550 paper or higher.
IELTS Passing overall score is 6.5 or higher.
