This program offers students a comprehensive introduction to geography's varied disciplines and methodologies. Tailored for California Community College transfers with an Associate Degree in Geography (AA-T) under the Transfer Model Curricula (TMC), it enables graduation with a maximum of 60 additional units, while remaining accessible to all students. A Geography degree (Environment, Society, and Technology) equips graduates with versatile skills for numerous career paths. Alumni enter diverse sectors including fire ecology, remote sensing, GIS, watershed conservation, wildlife habitats, energy strategy, food security, market analysis, and social advocacy. From cutting-edge geospatial technologies to grassroots community engagement, geographers tackle critical social and environmental challenges.
The Geography Department actively cultivates an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates and respects every member of our academic community. We embrace diversity across race, ethnicity, language, culture, socioeconomic background, nationality, faith, political views, age, ability, gender identity, expression, and sexual orientation.
