This program equips you for beginner roles across municipal, state, county, and federal government agencies, as well as nonprofit organizations. Potential positions include human resources coordinator, social services aide, urban planning assistant, financial clerk, program coordinator, information officer, workplace safety technician, legislative aide, or grant coordinator. Additionally, it provides a foundation for transferring to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor's in public administration or similar disciplines.
The curriculum offers Level 1 certification options in Public Sector Budgeting, Labor Studies, and Public Service Leadership, achievable in 21 credit hours or fewer. These accelerated pathways deliver immediately applicable workplace skills. Students also gain hands-on experience through practicum placements in government or nonprofit settings.
