The Level 2 Certificate in Court Reporting Computer-Aided Transcription (CAT) builds upon the foundational skills acquired in the Level 1 Transcriptionist/Scopist Certificate. This advanced program trains court reporting students to achieve machine shorthand proficiency at 225 words per minute while maintaining 97% transcription accuracy. Graduates will be qualified to sit for both the state Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) and national Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification tests. Successful CSR candidates gain two career pathways: serving as an official court reporter within the judicial system or working independently as a deposition reporter for court reporting agencies.
