The Early Childhood Studies program equips future educators for roles in Early Head Start, Head Start, nationally accredited centers, licensed childcare facilities, and public schools (as teacher assistants). San Antonio College's Early Childhood Studies Associate Degree Program holds accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children's Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs (www.naeyc.org), valid from March 2016 to March 2023.

Participants will examine key concepts including: Supporting child growth and learning from infancy through age 8
Establishing connections with families and communities
Assessing and documenting to aid young learners and their families
Implementing age-appropriate teaching methods
Applying subject knowledge to create impactful early learning curricula
Developing professional competencies in early childhood education.
