Maternal and child health, a specialized field within public health, embodies Saint Louis University's commitment to truth-seeking and serving humanity while supporting the College for Public Health and Social Justice's social justice goals. Graduates of this certificate program may choose to continue their studies in SLU's Master of Public Health program, either full-time or part-time. The 15-credit Maternal and Child Health certificate incorporates coursework from the M.P.H. curriculum, providing comprehensive training in key maternal and child health topics. Students can tailor the certificate by selecting existing courses from the Maternal and Child Health concentration. Additionally, those who complete this certificate and later pursue the Public Health certificate for a wider public health perspective will find the programs mutually reinforcing, potentially combining credits toward the complete M.P.H. degree.
