Earning both degrees simultaneously through the dual degree program enables students to finish faster than pursuing them individually or one after another. Dual degree candidates begin by concentrating on the M.P.H., dedicating three straight semesters (summer, fall, spring) to M.P.H. classes exclusively. Afterwards, they transition their attention to M.M.S. studies in the Doisy College of Health Sciences. The program offers credit efficiency by counting nine M.M.S. credit hours as electives toward the M.P.H. requirements, making it possible to complete both degrees in just 3.5 academic years. Prospective students must apply to both programs separately before commencing either degree.

Individuals may apply to the M.P.H. degree program concurrently with application to or following their admission to the Doisy College of Health Sciences, however, admission to the dual-degree program is contingent upon admission to both the M.P.H. and the M.M.S. degree programs. Official, certified, or attested transcripts from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
