Established in 1927, Saint Louis University's Oliver L. Parks Department of Aviation Science possesses the nation's inaugural federally certified flight certificate. As the sole Jesuit university offering a flight program, Saint Louis University stands as a leading institution for aviation education. Rooted in Jesuit tradition, students develop ethical decision-making skills that support their personal and professional aspirations while enabling them to enhance their communities. The comprehensive curriculum combines fundamental and advanced flight science and aviation management courses with core requirements and electives. Flight training occurs in sophisticated light aircraft including the Diamond DA-20, Piper Archer PA28-181 with Garmin G1000nxi, and Piper Seminole PA44. Advanced students progress to larger aircraft studies using a cutting-edge Canadair Regional Jet-700 simulator.
To be considered for admission to any Saint Louis University undergraduate program, applicants must be graduating from an accredited high school, have an acceptable HiSET exam score or take the General Education Development (GED) test.
GPA: Minimum cumulative 2.50 high school GPA for freshman applicants and 2.70 college GPA for transfer applicants.
