Saint Louis University's Bachelor of Arts in French program, provided by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, helps students master the language while deepening their understanding of French-speaking societies.
In today's globalized world, a French major serves as a valuable advantage for careers across diverse sectors such as commerce, healthcare, government, legal fields, and liberal arts. The program also equips SLU students for advanced French studies through comprehensive coursework in French and Francophone literature and cultural studies.

Our curriculum includes diverse French-language courses, covering topics like French and International Relations, Business French, French Film Studies, and Francophone Media.
Students have opportunities for semester or year-long study in France, choosing between Lyon or Poitiers. These immersive programs enable participants to engage directly with French culture while attending classes alongside local and international students. Credits earned may apply toward French majors/minors or fulfill university core requirements.
SLU's French program extends beyond academics. The department organizes regular cultural events for all proficiency levels and maintains a Pi Delta Phi honor society chapter. Students can also engage in community service initiatives throughout St. Louis.
