This program is exclusively for students pursuing physics teacher certification. While a certification minor is not required, students have the option to pursue minors in chemistry and mathematics by taking 10 extra chemistry credits (courses numbered 111 or above) along with completing MATH 300, MATH 302, MATH 304, and MATH 471.
The Physics major is designed for those aiming to teach in middle schools (grades 5-9) or high schools (grades 7-12). Students must complete a double major, pairing this with one of the education majors outlined in the College of Education section.
