The Visual Arts Education program prepares students to become art instructors in public schools. No minor is necessary. The curriculum mandates 63 credit hours from the Art Department, along with completing the College of Education's certification courses. This program first exposes students to foundational concepts across various visual art mediums and art history, then allows specialization in a chosen medium. Additionally, students will translate their studio and art history knowledge into teaching practice through art methods and field study courses. Certification details can be found in the Teacher Education: Secondary section.
