Students enroll in the dual degree program as first-year undergraduates, gaining simultaneous admission to both their bachelor's program and the SCPR graduate program. This early acceptance guarantees their spot in the graduate program from day one, with defined milestones to advance into graduate-level coursework.
With guidance from undergraduate advisors and engagement in School of Communication, Media & the Arts initiatives, students receive comprehensive support to transition smoothly into graduate studies.
The dual degree program allows students to obtain both a Bachelor's and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication & Public Relations within five years. The first four years focus on undergraduate coursework, followed by one year of graduate study in the SCPR program. This accelerated path is available to all undergraduate majors except nursing and interdisciplinary studies.
Dual degree candidates can take up to six graduate credits during their undergraduate years, applying these toward both degrees. This approach reduces overall graduate tuition costs since these credits are covered under full-time undergraduate tuition rates.
