The ASL-English interpretation program equips future sign language interpreters for professional environments facilitating communication between deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing individuals. Students build core competencies in general interpretation while gaining exposure to specialized areas like educational, medical, and community interpreting.
Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education, this program ranks among just 16 nationally recognized bachelor's degree interpreting programs in the U.S.
This Bachelor of Science in ASL-English Interpretation offers focused training to hone interpreting abilities through hands-on practice and academic coursework. The curriculum prepares graduates with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to pursue certification through either the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf's National Interpreter Certification or the Educational Interpreting Performance Assessment.
