RIT's Bachelor of Fine Arts in medical illustration trains students to transform intricate scientific and medical concepts into captivating visual representations. A medical illustrator is a highly trained artist with expertise in both scientific disciplines (including biology, anatomy, and physiology) and creative fields (such as illustration, digital design across dimensions, animation, and interactive media). These professionals specialize in producing artwork that reveals hidden anatomical structures (like internal organs, cellular components, and musculoskeletal systems) or clarifies complex processes (such as surgical procedures, physiological mechanisms, and disease development).
