The Associate of Applied Science in applied mechanical technology is an undergraduate program designed to equip students for entry and successful progression into a bachelor's degree program within the College of Engineering Technology, focusing on manufacturing engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology. Students enhance their abilities through courses led by NTID instructors. This program is exclusively for applicants to the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. The curriculum methodically tackles the preparatory obstacles that deaf and hard-of-hearing students encounter when starting their studies in the College of Engineering Technology majors. Those in the applied mechanical technology major gain a thorough grounding in engineering basics, including precision measurement, precision machining, computer-aided design applications, strength of materials, and machine design. After earning the AAS degree in applied mechanical technology, students transition into the bachelor's degree program in either manufacturing engineering technology or mechanical engineering technology.
Applicants must Submit an official high school transcript.
Minimum Score for Admission Consideration: Internet Based TOEFL (iBT) - 79; PTE Academic - 58, IELTS - 6.5
