Faculty specialists investigate key topics including workplace motivation, challenges of an aging workforce, employment discrimination, job effectiveness, and team development strategies. The program equips students with robust training for academic or professional careers in this field. After earning a PhD in Psychology with an Industrial-Organizational Psychology specialization, graduates will demonstrate these competencies: Utilize theoretical frameworks to conduct autonomous I/O psychology research. Employ methodological and statistical approaches for independent studies. Perform targeted literature reviews to support original research inquiries. Create effective research designs for independent investigations. Present research findings through clear, compelling written communication. Evaluate scholarly articles critically within their specialization and across psychological disciplines. Articulate and justify research methodologies during academic presentations. Produce an original dissertation worthy of publication in leading I/O psychology journals.
