We investigate the behavior of mountain glaciers to continent-sized ice sheets over time by analyzing glacial sediments as records of historical ice conditions. Our methods include collecting sediment drill cores, seismic imaging, and mapping seafloor topography. A key area of our research is the Antarctic ice sheet, where we've led oceanographic expeditions nearly every second year for multiple decades. Additionally, we examine the makeup of Earth's ancient atmosphere through gas bubbles trapped in ice core samples.
