Focusing on visual and analytical skills, the Sculpture MFA program provides resources to cultivate a robust cross-disciplinary practice. The program highlights hands-on studio work, collaborative discussions, guest artist lectures, and skill-building electives that expand your creative techniques. This framework helps you and your peers establish enduring artistic connections. The curriculum fosters engagement with critical dialogue and cultivates research approaches that embrace diverse methodologies. Students gain access to cutting-edge tools while exploring socially engaged and experimental practices. Over two intensive years at RISD, MFA students pursue independent creative research. First-year students may also design and potentially teach their own course during the winter term.
