Glass is an endlessly versatile material that holds significant value across artistic and design disciplines. As a Glass BFA student, you'll collaborate with instructors and guest artists to hone techniques like glassblowing, mold creation, casting, and cold working. This immersive training fosters technical expertise, explores the interplay between material and concept, and establishes a comprehensive studio practice. During the first year, sophomores build problem-solving abilities by completing project-based assignments while mastering fundamental glassblowing, cold working, mold fabrication, and casting techniques. Junior students expand their conceptual and analytical skills through intensive studio practice, supplemented by intermediate glassblowing courses and historical studies that deepen their appreciation of the medium's heritage.
