As a tax attorney, you'll help clients navigate the tax consequences of both business and personal dealings, optimizing tax benefits while maintaining ethical standards and legal compliance. Our program equips you with expertise and abilities that will position you as an asset not just for law practices, but also for governmental bodies, accounting firms, and diverse business enterprises. You'll examine the framework of today's income tax system, master relevant statutes, regulations, case precedents, and legislative background, and learn to implement them in tax strategy and dispute resolution. Additionally, you'll explore crucial aspects of tax ethics and policy.

While delving into the complexities of tax legislation, you can gain hands-on experience through our renowned Tax Clinic - the nation's longest-running clinic of its type - or via externships with judicial officials, tax lawyers, or the IRS. Alternatively, you can participate in community service by helping local residents with tax filing through our Tax Law Society's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance initiative.
