This adaptable degree equips students with core competencies for diverse roles in rapidly expanding healthcare fields such as physician assistance, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social services, and medical laboratory technology.
The BS in Health Science Studies features an interdisciplinary approach that prioritizes patient-focused care while integrating scientific principles of wellbeing, health maintenance, and physical fitness. Alumni will master clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic interventions across the care spectrum to enhance patient health, support injury rehabilitation and prevention, and improve functional mobility. The curriculum enables exploration of healthcare professions spanning nutrition science, diagnostic imaging, biomedical research, vision care, healthcare management, health regulations, population health, and biotechnological applications.
The program's customizable structure provides graduates with distinct advantages for career advancement or graduate education, including medical degree preparation. Following the introduction of 2 new concentrations in Fall 2022, students can select from 5 specialized academic pathways. An optional Nutrition minor complements the curriculum, examining food science's critical impact on healthy living, athletic conditioning, chronic illness management, and public health initiatives.
