Our studies encompass a wide range of organisms (from viruses to humans), employing both the detailed 'skin-in' perspective of molecular, cellular, and developmental (MCD) biology and the broader 'skin-out' view of ecology, evolution, and behavior (EEB). Faculty teach specialized courses in their fields while creating innovative learning experiences for students. The department organizes various events including weekly Colloquium sessions, an annual Research Symposium, and frequent social gatherings with researcher presentations.
