A Foreign Language degree nurtures comprehensive awareness of various cultures, languages, and literary works. This program readies students to participate meaningfully in our increasingly globalized environment. Participants master new languages, investigate intriguing cultural practices, and gain firsthand international experience through overseas study initiatives. The Spanish degree program combines general education requirements with specialized coursework from the College of Humanities, Education & Social Science and intensive Spanish studies. Pursuing Spanish develops extensive knowledge of global cultures, languages, and literature while preparing students for impactful roles in our worldwide community.
Beyond classroom instruction, our students actively participate through coursework and Spanish Club involvement, exploring Hispanic communities in Northwest Indiana, Chicago, and internationally via study abroad programs. The Spanish major empowers you to understand your local context while developing a global perspective.
Applicants must have official high school transcript(s) or GED test score report.
Test scores: Internet Based TOEFL (iBT) - 79 or higher; IELTS with a score of at least 6.5 or higher; British O-Level English Language Exam with a Grade of A or B on Ordinary Level of GCE/GCSE/IGCSE. PNW Undergraduate Admissions accepts a 100-110 Duolingo English Test score band.
