The primary objective for occupational and environmental health experts is safeguarding individuals from potential health risks posed by environmental dangers like lead exposure or air contamination. Purdue's Occupational and Environmental Health Science (OEHS) graduate program, with its focus on industrial hygiene, provides both Master of Science (MS) and PhD degree options. Our purpose is to equip graduates to become skilled practitioners, innovators, and investigators in industrial hygiene and associated disciplines. We'll train you to become an exceptional scientist capable of shielding workers, families, and neighborhoods from harmful environmental substances. Our MS curriculum holds industrial hygiene accreditation from ABET's Applied Science Accreditation Commission. Distinctively, our program stands alone nationally in achieving ABET accreditation for industrial hygiene at both bachelor's and master's degree levels. Our MS and PhD curricula develop students into highly capable, principled industrial hygiene specialists who utilize scientific methods to defend workers against harmful environmental factors and occupational stressors.
