The Department of Health and Kinesiology focuses on advancing fundamental and practical research to improve human health and quality of life. Students can choose between two graduate programs: a Master of Science (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The MS degree provides adaptable coursework enabling specialized study aligned with faculty research strengths. The PhD curriculum prepares scholars to conduct original research and share their findings effectively. Both programs cover core disciplines such as: sports medicine, movement mechanics, motor learning and development, physiological responses to exercise, psychological aspects of physical activity, and sports administration.
Cumulative Grade Point Average from most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree: 3.0 or equivalent (A=4.0)
